The German footwear brand BIRKENSTOCK, with roots dating back to 1774, has partnered with the American heritage brand Filson, known for outfitting explorers and adventurers for over 127 years, to create an exclusive collaborative collection.
This collaboration blends both brands' traditions of exceptional quality, craftsmanship, and timeless design. The collection features three new models, crafted to navigate the modern world while honoring their shared commitment to craftsmanship, functionality, and a deep connection to nature.
Drawing inspiration from the American North’s natural environment, the designs incorporate earthy materials like Mackinaw wool, waxed cotton, and leather, with rustic finishes. Combining Filson's "Original Alaska Outfitter" heritage with Birkenstock's DNA, the collaboration delivers rugged, practical footwear with a bushcraft aesthetic.
The color palette includes shades of forest green, flame orange, mink, and toasted brown, and features special details like embossed logos and antique brass buckle accents.
The collection introduces three models:
London Methow: A low-top shoe with an adjustable strap and unlined, supple leather designed for a close-to-the-earth feel.
Lahti: A soft hunting boot with a foldable shaft in Filson’s signature Mackinaw wool, equipped with a slip-resistant sole.
Skykomish: A rustic yet functional boot with a Filson tin cloth upper and a structured rubber guard, suitable for both urban strolls and mountain hikes.
The Lahti and Skykomish models feature Birkenstock’s signature Deep Blue footbed, offering anatomical support and pressure distribution inspired by natural foot movement. This removable footbed provides a barefoot-like feel, adding to the comfort and practicality of the collection.
The collaboration will be available starting October 22 on filson.com, 1774.com, and select global retailers.
