Nestled in the Sintra mountains in the Lisbon region, MARQÍ is a 1980s mansion-turned boutique hotel founded by Danish photographer Mikkel Kristensen. The property boasts generous views of green valleys and the ocean, which is just a 15-minute walk away. Lending an earthy feel to the otherwise minimal interior, the respectfully renovated hotel features its original brown tiles and a hand-carved wooden bar. Tactile bouclé armchairs and thoughtfully curated bright accent pieces dot the property for contemporary appeal. With just eight rooms – and no two alike – there’s an air of intimacy fostered between guests, almost familial.
