Villa Extramuros finds itself in the small city of Arraiolos in Alentejo, the largest province of Portugal renowned for its unspoiled nature and calm surroundings. You arrive at a white modernist building via a winding dirt road, to be welcomed by an eclectic curation of mid-century and contemporary furnishings. With seven rooms in total (two of which are junior suites) the property is built around a courtyard that feels at once enveloping and private. A distinct feeling of calm permeates the landscape here with the sole interruption, a herd of roaming sheep through the property’s sweeping olive groves.
